- Tap Install J9Signal or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Install to confirm.

- Tap Chrome’s three-dot menu.
- Select Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Install.

Use web apps
A web app is an app built for the web that you can access on any device. You can use web apps to have a website work as an app and access it on your computer or mobile devices through the launcher or home screen. Some web apps include extra features, like more storage to browse content offline, notifications, file system access, and icon badges.
Tip: Although web apps work offline, some may not work completely without an internet connection.
Install a web app
- On your Android device, open Chrome

- Go to a website with a web app that you want to install.
- On the right of the address bar, tap More
Install and create shortcut
Install.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Uninstall a web app
- On your Android device, tap Settings

See all apps.
- To remove a web app, tap the web app’s icon.
- Tap Uninstall.
Accept or deny app name updates
You’ll receive app updates from Google Chrome when the app wants to update its name below its icon on your screen.
You can choose whether you want to accept the update or uninstall the app.
Important: When a change is drastic, like a name change to resemble a different app, it might be a malicious change by the developer. If you think that’s the case, uninstall the app.
- To accept the change: Tap OK.
- To uninstall the app: Tap Uninstall app

Safari is the simplest recommended route:
- Open J9Signal in Safari.
- Tap Safari’s Share button – the square with the upward arrow.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Turn on Open as Web App if that option appears.
- Confirm the name
J9Signal, then tap Add.
If the link opened inside Facebook or Instagram, first select Open in Safari.

Add to home screen
You can add a shortcut for your home screen to websites you like. The web app feature may work differently based on the website.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome
.
- Go to a website that you want to add.
- On the right of the address bar, tap Share
.
- Find and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm or edit the website details and tap Add.
Tips:
- If web app is available, the shortcut opens the app.
- If web app isn’t available, the shortcut opens in your default browser.
Delete from home screen
- On your iPhone or iPad, go to the home screen.
- Locate the shortcut you want to delete.
- Touch and hold the shortcut.
- Tap Delete Bookmark.
Tip: Once you delete a shortcut, you won’t have access to the same extra functionality and the website may behave differently. You can return to the website to add it again if you want to restore the previous behavior.

Uninstall a web app
Manage app name and icon updates
Important: If you suspect a malicious change, like the app name has updated or the icon has changed to resemble a different app, uninstall the app.
When a web app wants to update its name or icon on your screen, Google Chrome notifies you about the updates.
You can choose to accept the update, ignore it, or uninstall the app.
- At the top right of the web app window, select App update available
.
- Select Review app update.
- To accept the change: Select Update.
- This closes the dialog and initiates the update.
- To uninstall the app: Select Uninstall.
- To uninstall, follow the on-screen instructions.
- To ignore the update: Select Ignore.
- If you ignore an update, it won’t show on the window. You can still update the app when you go to More
.
